        <![CDATA[<p>The US National Institute of Mental Health has published new findings that suggest the same gene that causes brilliance in humans may also be the cause of schizophrenia under certain circumstances.</p>

<blockquote>“Our results raise the question of whether a gene variant favoured by evolution, that would normally confer advantage, may translate into a disadvantage if the prefrontal cortex is impaired, as in schizophrenia,” Dr Weinberger said.</blockquote>
